The Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) addresses crucial scientific questions in the fields of global change, climate impacts and sustainable development. This role will be based in the Berlin office at the EUREF campus in Berlin Schöneberg.
For the Climate Policy and Development group (RD5) PIK is offering a
in the field of climate policy and development, ideally starting on 01.04.2025.
The position is funded until December 2027 (end of the project). Remuneration is in accordance with the German public tariff scheme (TV-L Brandenburg), salary group E 13. This is a part-time position with a weekly working time of 32 hours per week.
The successful candidate will support the team with stakeholder interaction on distributional implications of climate policies in low- and middle-income countries and potential instruments to circumvent unintended impacts. The position includes facilitating policy-oriented dialogue with project partners and other political stakeholders (both in Germany and abroad) to help promoting efficient and equitable climate mitigation solutions. Besides, the candidate will contribute to the maintenance and public communication of the Carbon Pricing Incidence Calculator (CPIC) web tool, which allows stakeholders to assess the distributional impacts of carbon pricing reforms for currently 88 countries.
